James Corden addresses Coronavirus outbreak
James Corden starting out by stating facts. It has been a scary time. NBA has suspended the season. President Trump has announced a travel ban.
I’m sure you’ll all feeling frightened, vulnerable at the moment. And we want to take a minute let you know that you are not alone in all of this. We are all feeling the same thing.
He added that if there is anything important in all of this, it’s listening to the instructions being given about hygiene, staying home if you don’t feel well. James Corden suggests taking this time to really look after yourself and look after each other. He knows we all have friends and family we feel worried about at this moment.
He also announced that the show’s format will be changed from next week to look after the audience, staff and the general public.
We’re going to start doing the show without an audience. I’m used to doing a show without a television audience but normally there’s an audience here in the studio. But we’re not going to do that and we’ll see how that plays out.
James Corden promises that he and his crew will continue to make us all laugh and try to be some light and levity to your day whenever they can.
He also has Vin Diesel on the show who appreciated him for these kind words. He said:
I have to say that the speech you gave at the beginning of the show was incredible
And James Corden received a round of well-deserved applause for the measures he is taking on his show and for trying to bring some smiles and laughter in such stressful times.
