In episode 209, Season 17 of “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, which aired on March 9, 2020, we got to see Vin Diesel. We also got to hear his take on CoronaVirus Pandemic as well as his upcoming movies.
Vin Diesel’s upcoming movies
The 52-years-old American actor became our heartthrob when he played the role of Dominic Toretto in Fast and Furious. He rose to fame after that movie and the rest is history as we know it. In the episode, he talked about his upcoming movies. Playing the role of Raymond Garrison in the film Bloodshot, which will release on March 13, 2020. The movie is based on the book Bloodshot by Valiant Comics. He and his wife are murdered but he is resurrected by scientists. No more a human but a superhuman, he turns in a killing machine. While he trains with other soldiers he starts getting his memories back. And sets out to seek revenge from the ones who broke hell in his life.
F9 & CoronaVirus
Fast & Furious 9 is Vin Diesel’s other blockbuster which was set to release this May. However, the franchise notified their fans of the heartbreaking news on March 12, 2020, that the movie will be delayed one whole year. The reason behind it is, of course, CoronaVirus. As most of the fans won’t be able to watch the film in cinemas, the movie has made this unfortunate decision.
F9 is not the first film to have made this decision. James Bond’s latest installment has also delayed its release. Another big movie that has followed suit is Quiet Place II.
During the show, Vin Diesel didn’t mention anything about the delay but he did talk about CoronaVirus. Jimmy Kimmel asked him rather bluntly how is he protecting his biggest asset that is “Vin Diesel”. And Vin laughed quite a bit on it. Always known for his fans-first mindset, even the bloody CoronaVirus can’t stop him from showing up for his fans. He told Jimmy Kimmel:
I love to show up for the audience and for the fans because God knows how much they’ve showed up for me. I’m crazy. I’m begging Sony to let me go to China, even now. And you should see everyone’s faces like, ‘You’re going alone, buddy!’
He also made a rather shocking statement that it was his youngest daughter Pauline’s idea to Cast Cardi B in F9. And well a role was created for her by the writers.
