The New Mutants will showcase LGBTQ couple
Marvel’s The New Mutants teaser shows same-sex romance. The new movie is a spin-off of the original X-Men comic series. It stars Charlie Heaton, Maisie Williams, Anya-Taylor Joy, Henry Zaga and Blu Hunt. The movie revolves around Magik, Wolfsbane and other teenage mutants who are hiding at a secret facility while they come to terms with their superpowers.
Earlier, It was told that the new movie will become the first-ever Marvel production to tease same-sex romance. This year two years after the first trailer was released, the second trailer also shows a same-sex romance between Wolfsbane (Williams) and Moonstar (Hunt). Even though their romance is not part of the storyline of the comic book series, fans are thrilled and looking forward to the first out LGBTQ couple in a Marvel movie.
The film was originally scheduled to be released in 2018, then 2019. And now it is due to hit cinemas in April 2020.
The New Mutants plotline is interesting
Josh Boone directs the movie. In the movie, Danielle Moonstar aka. Mirage plays a native American who is ostracized by her community because of her superpowers. She possesses powers to create illusions based on a person’s worst fears. Her powers suddenly surface as she hits puberty. However. the community shuns her at the same time.
On the other hand, Rahne Sinclair aka. Wolfsbane also goes through a lot of abuse and trauma as her people think her powers are bestowed down by the devil himself. This is owing to their strong religious background.
And as the two characters meet while coming from a similar traumatic history, it is hypothesized that they bond over this and become romantically involved. However, fans can’t wait to watch this new turn in this new Marvel production.
