Although cricket is mostly considered a men’s game, women have been a part of it since 1934. However, the first women’s world cup was held in 1973 in England. Eight months prior to men’s world cup, this year’s women’s world cup began on 21st February. There were ten teams that qualified including Australia, England, Pakistan, India, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Thailand. The final was held on the same day as International Women’s Day, 8th March.

The final was held at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Indeed, it was a special event for Australians and Katy Perry fans. She also hinted that she has a special treat for her Australian fans. When she talked about her performance at the final, she said:

The final of world cup was between Australia and India which ended in Australia being the victor. Later, Katy Perry performed with the victorious team on stage with her. It became an incredibly memorable event for everyone.
