Judge Judy Is Ending After 25 Seasons But Judy Justice Will Take Over
One of the longest-running shows Judge Judy is finally ending after 25 long seasons. The news, as Judy Sheindlin tells it, also tells that she is not ready to hang her boots just yet. She is going to appear in a similar show, Justice Judy coming soon. The judge appeared on Ellen DeGeneres show where she broke the news to the viewers and her fans, telling that 2020-21 season will be her last.
Judge Judy Ending But Justice Judy Coming Up
The Hollywood Reporter confirms the news about Judge Judy ending the show after 25 seasons. Judy Sheindlin said:
“I’ve had a 25-year-long marriage with CBS, and it’s been successful. Next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary, and CBS sort of felt, I think, they wanted to optimally utilize the repeats of my program. Because now they have 25 years of reruns. So, what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years’ worth of reruns. But I’m not tired, so Judy Justice will be coming out a year later.”
We are not sure what this new show will be about, but it sounds like the same as the courtroom drama we have been seeing. Moreover, the information about the channel is also not undisclosed. When DeGeneres asked about where will the show air, Sheindlin pardoned her way out of it.
However, she did provide other information about Judge Judy and what comes after its ending.
“Judge Judy, you’ll be able to see next year — a full year, all new shows. … The following couple of years, you should be able to catch all the reruns that CBS has sold to the stations that are currently carrying Judge Judy, and Judy Justice will be going elsewhere. Isn’t that fun?”
Sheindlin is currently the highest-paid personality on TV, earning up to US$ 47 million a year. And she doesn’t want to stop just yet!
