Maroon 5 Lands In Hot Water After Chilean Music Festival

0 335

The Viña del Mar International Song Festival is a music festival held annually in the 3rd week of February in Viña del Mar, Chile. And it’s one of the largest and oldest music festivals in Latin America with the first festival dating back to the 1960s. The festival includes invited artists. And is broadcasted over live TV. And this year was no different. However, the innocent event ended up in the tabloids because of one reason only: Maroon 5.

One of the artists to perform at the music festival was the band, Maroon 5. But their performance was not as well-received as they had hoped. The audience claimed Adam Levine, lead singer, appeared “distracted and uncomfortable” throughout their set. And Santiago’s La Tercera newspaper even called the star, “cold, reluctant and preoccupied.”

But soon enough, Maroon 5 started trending at #1 on social media and TV viewers started criticizing the performance.

Adam Levine Apologises For “Unprofessional” Concert

Adam Levine took to his Instagram story to apologize to fans and the audience of the music festival for his “unprofessional” performance.

And he reportedly said, “To be totally frank there were some things holding me back last night and I let them get to me. And it impacted how I was behaving on stage, which is unprofessional and I apologize for that.” He also blamed technical difficulties for their subpar performance.

“I struggled a lot and sometimes it’s really for me to mask the struggle. For that, I let you guys down and I apologize,” he shared.

But struggle or not, the fans deserve an apology when they’ve come a long way to see their favorite stars and the performance just isn’t worth it. The band will resume their South America tour now and claims to “completely destroy” their next show.

And for the sake of their fans and Maroon 5’s reputation, we hope they do.
