The legendary Black Mamba
Kobe Bryant was born in 1978 in Philadelphia. His father was also an NBA player. Some of his life was spent in Italy where his father played in a league. In 1991 he came back to Philadelphia and joined a high school basketball team and then went straight to the NBA. He played with the Lakers throughout his 20-season career. During 2013-2015 he suffered many injuries. After a torn Achilles tendon, rotator cuff and fractured knee he decided something. 2015-2016 was going to be his last NBA season. His last game became his sixth 60-point game. In November 2015 he notified his fans of his retirement:
My heart can take the pounding. My mind can handle the grind but my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.
