When Brad Pitt threatened to kill Harvey Weinstein
We remember the time Brad Pitt threatened to kill Harvey Weinstein for his girlfriend, Gwenyth Paltrow.
Brad Pitt is often seen as a rash chocolate boy, but this one time he actually behaved like one. And he truly couldn’t have behaved better at a time when needed the most. At the time, Brad Pitt used to date Gwyneth Paltrow. Back then, she had to encounter the disgraced Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein. Convicted of rape and sexual assault, we can expect that Weinstein tried to do something similar to Gwyneth. Brad Pitt, however, had another idea.
Brad Pitt’s heroic act
Before Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Anniston, Pitt dated Gwyneth Paltrow between 1994 and 1997. During that time, the actress had to face the Hollywood Mogul, Harvey Weinstein in a hotel room. Sadly, Weinstein maintained his reputation and made a pass at the actress without her consent. She immediately left the hotel and told her boyfriend Pitt right away. This was at a time when she had signed two movies with Weinstein. She was afraid for her career. But what happened later, kept Gwyneth and her career safe from Weinstein for years to come.
Brad Pitt confronted Weinstein at the opening of Hamlet on Broadway, by almost throwing him against the wall. He told Weinstein that “If you ever make her feel uncomfortable again, I’ll kill you”. Yes, Brad Pitt said that to a giant of Hollywood at the peak of his power! That takes some guts, but it was more than enough to scare Weinstein away. After that, he never laid a and on her ever again. Paltrow confirmed this in an interview on The Howard Stern Show and says she loves him for that to this day:
Brad Pitt did the most heroic thing anyone can do for his girlfriend, yet stayed silent for all these years. He never mentioned this in public, until Gwyneth Paltrow brought it up. This is Pitt talking about this confrontation on CNN:
Notice how he focuses more on what needs to be changed in Hollywood, instead of his own heroic actions. A true hero!
Weinstein – Disgraced and Convicted
Weinstein’s ‘almost’ beating at the hands of Brad Pitt was just a start. As we all know, Weinstein is finally convicted by New York City Criminal Courts for rape and sexual assault. Other than that, he has had several Sexual Harassment, rape and sexual assault accusations from around 80 other women. Those survivors are still to get justice for his actions. However, Gwyneth Paltrow’s role cannot be ignored in this.
In the case built against Weinstein, she played a very important role. Megan Twohey and Jodi Kanter confirmed this on “Today Show” in their interview:
“Gwyneth [Paltrow] was actually one of the first people to get on the phone and she was determined to help this investigation even when Harvey Weinstein showed up to a party at her house early and she was sort of forced to hide in the bathroom.” –@mega2e pic.twitter.com/cDizgIn3V7

In conclusion, we can easily say that both Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow have played a heroic role against Weinstein. One confronted him with force, and the other used her experience and influence to put him behind bars. We need more people like them to stop predators like Harvey Weinstein making victims out of more women!
