Liam Neeson Doesn’t Want To Do Superhero Movies Including Star Wars
Once famous for doing heavenly and superhero roles, Liam Neeson has now made a decision. Liam Neeson said that he is not interested in playing a superhero anymore. For those who might not know, most of us actually grew up watching Neeson either playing as a Greek god in Clash of Titans or Qui-gon Jin in Star Wars or even Ra’s al Ghul from Batman Begins. Due to his stunning and graceful roles, he has become one of the most prolific actors to grace the big screens around the globe.
Liam Neeson Is Not A Fan of Superhero Genre
In an interview, the questioner asked Liam Neeson if he would return to doing superhero genre movies. The star replied that he has no reason to return, in reference to Batman Begins or any other such movie.
“I’ll be honest with you, no. It’s not. I’m really not a huge fan of the genre. I think it’s Hollywood with all the bells and whistles and the technical achievements and stuff — which I admire — but I have no desire to go into the gym for three hours every day to pump myself up to squeeze into a Velcro suit with a cape.”
However, Liam Neeson is really glad that he got chances to work with CGI, like in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. He feels that this genre is not his type anymore. He said that he did Star Wars because that was something new and it was a great experience as well.
Despite this, he did return to such genre of movies, for example in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. One could say that it was only his voice and nothing else. The same goes for The Clone Wars series where Obi-Wan could hear his voice. Perhaps it is now time that we start looking for our next “constant”. It is safe to say that whenever we think about Liam Neeson, he always pops up as a superhero to most of us.
