When Stranger Things’ Hopper died at the end of season 3, everyone freaked out. However, David Harbour and the fans of the show are revealed to know Hopper’s fate. Since the teaser of season 4 is released, we are highly anticipating the return of Hawkins’ residents.
Stranger Things’ Hopper put David Harbour in the spotlight
Although he has been working in the industry since 2002, David Harbour became a household name after Stranger Things. In the show, he plays a lovable cop who acts tough but has a heart of gold. While people loved David Harbour’s character’s contrast between tough and soft, his chemistry with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) was the best part. Apart from Stranger Things, David Harbour has worked in TV shows like State of Affairs and The Newsroom. Next, he will be seen in Black Widow.
Recently, the teaser of Stranger Things’ season 4 was released
In the teaser for season 4, we got to know the fate of Jim Hopper. While at the end of season 3 Jim Hopper seemed to have died, he is very much alive in the latest teaser. Not only that, he is stuck in Russia. Therefore, he may or may not be on the side of the enemy. Apart from him, other new characters were revealed who might be playing an important role.
Previously, David Harbour talked about Hopper’s supposed death and said:
“When I read that first scene with Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper, and he resists helping her find her child and even makes a bit of a homophobic joke about him, you see this guy has really sort of died on the inside as a result of the death of his daughter. The fact that he lives with a certain amount of internalized rage and had been slowly killing himself with pills and alcohol … he needed to make a sacrifice.”
However, now David Harbour is glad that the reality behind Stranger Things’ Hopper has been revealed
In an Instagram post, he expressed his happiness about the new teaser and trolled himself for lying about his character’s fate. He said:
Happy the cat’s outta the bag and this account can continue on as the ‘beloved memes’ account that at its best it’s always been. My fav here. A spoiler no more. I continue to enjoy your feigned surprise at Hopper’s return. You accepted my year full of interview lies with such grace, equanimity and blushing embarrassed humor. No more lies. Well, I mean, except for ‘no more lies’, cause we all know…
While David Harbour might be happy for other reasons, we are glad that Hopper is safe and sound! We cannot wait to see him back in action.
