KJ Apa (Keneti James Fitzgerald Apa) is a 22-year-old actor from New Zealand. He has portrayed Archie Andrews in the famous CW series Riverdale. Most of his fan following came from this role. Before this role though, he appeared as Kane Jenkins in “Shortland Street” and as Ethan Montgomery in the film “A Dog’s Purpose”. However, it wasn’t until Monday, February 17, 2020, that he made his debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Let’s see what happened on the Presidents’ Day edition of the show.
KJ Apa surprises fans on the show
A special segment of the show included fans of the Riverdale star talking about what a humble and sweet person KJ Apa is. Next thing they know, they are jumped by the very star they are drooling over. There were screams of glee and nervousness while meeting their favorite actor in person. Clearly, KJ Apa had quite a lot of fun doing this as he laughed through the entire thing and hugged his fans and took loads of pictures with them as well. Watch the cute video right here:
Apart from KJ Apa surprising his fans, Ellen DeGeneres also decided to surprise the actor. They were deep in conversation about how Australia is more dangerous than his home country New Zealand. And out came a fake Archie Andrews from the side table all of a sudden. Not only did the real Archie, KJ Apa ran across the stage after getting scared, but he also said something for the fake guy:
He’s a lucky man. He’s lucky I didn’t give him one!
To which Ellen DeGeneres said:
He is lucky, it’s gonna happen someday.
In addition to all the surprises, there were some funny things happening as well. Apparently KJ Apa recorded a risque message for Ellen on her 62nd birthday. It showed a little too much and well everyone got to see the video on the show.
