Netflix did a praise-worthy job when it went for a live-action remake of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books. The giant streaming platform has wonderfully worked on novels Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish to recreate The Witcher series. Sapkowski’s work was also taken to develop one of the best award-winning games of the previous decade. However, in the television series, there was one face that the fans noticed was missing. Reports now say that the character will debut in season 2 of The Witcher. Interestingly, a Game of Thrones star will be taking on the role of this guy, a Nivellen.
The Witcher Season 2 Will Have Tormund
It appears that this cursed character is finally coming to the show in The Witcher season 2, and a Game of Thrones star will be doing his roles. Kristofer Hivju, who starred as Tormund Giantsbane in George R R Martin’s novel-adapted HBO show is coming to Netflix. According to Redanian Intelligence, the show has already completed its paperwork to sign Hivju. Apparently there is a casting line-up that shows that Hivju will play as Nigel, which according to its description is a Nivellen.
Kristofer Hivju first appeared in the HBO show back in season 3. The series truly did an amazing job developing his character. By the end of the show, he became of the important supporting characters of the storyline. Moreover, he also accompanied Jon Snow to the North of the Wall after leaving Westeros. Now maybe he will meet Henry Cavill‘s Geralt of Rivia in Season 2 of The Witcher?
Hivju’s appearance in season 2 of The Witcher is not the only difference between books and the TV series. Netflix series also brings in an overarching story about warring kingdoms. There is talk about the importance of destiny, both of which are not present in the short stories by the original writer. Perhaps these are some of the major differences between the series and the books.
The Witcher Season has a release date in 2021.
