Matt Reeves finally gives DC fans the teaser they had been waiting for. When the Twilight star was announced to play the next incarnation of Batman, it came as a huge surprise. Even his own fans said that he might not be able to portray the brooding Dark Knight perfectly. However, this first look shows that we all might have condemned Robert Pattinson too soon:

In the teaser:

We finally have our first look at Robert Pattinson’s Batman futuristic costume. The video showcases Batman in red and black colors. His costume looks awfully similar to the one in ’99 Animated Series “Batman: Beyond.” As we have our first look, we can also hear the new Batman theme in the background. It has been composed by Michael Giacchino, who has also composed Doctor Strange and The Rogue One.

Robert Pattinson's Batman logo in black

We get a glimpse of the shiny and futuristic Batman logo for the first time. After the reveal, fans have hypothesized that it has a heartbreaking connection to Bruce Wayne. On close inspection, we see that the logo looks like a gun. But it’s not just any gun. It’s the one that was used to murder Batman’s parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne when he was a child. It is a sad but brilliant nod to the superhero’s origin story. And a constant reminder to Batman for why he put on the suit.

Details about the upcoming Batman movie:

The Batman has a release date of June 25, 2021. Director Matt Reeves tweeted that filming for the latest rendition of the Dark Knight started in January 2020.

The main antagonist in the movie will be the Penguin (or Oswald Cobblepot) played by Colin Farrell. The Batman will also feature the Riddler (Paul Dano), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) and everyone’s beloved Alfred (Andy Serkis.) This time around, Gotham City’s DA is named Gil Colson who’s played by Peter Sarsgaard.
