Aubrey Plaza played April in the infamous TV show, Parks and Recreation

Aubrey Plaza’s character, April, is introduced in the first season of the show. Although she is working as an intern, she is extremely uninterested in her job. Most of the time, she is found sleeping on her desk. According to the show makers, April’s character was written specifically for Aubrey Plaza. When the casting director met Aubrey Plaza, she called the series creator, Michael Schur and said:

“I just met the weirdest girl I’ve ever met in my life. You have to meet her and put her on your show.”

Yesterday, Plaza took to social media to celebrate Galentine’s Day

The first time this holiday was introduced by Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope in the second season. According to her, it was the day when ‘ladies celebrate ladies’.  Her character invites all the ladies for breakfast and writes essays for them all. She said:

“It’s only the best day of the year, the day of uteruses before duderuses and ovaries before brovaries.”

While she is best known for April, Plaza has played many interesting characters over the years. Her performances in Ingrid Goes West, Legion and The Little Hours are also loved by all. However, we hope to ee her as April on our screens once again. Rumor has it that a TV reunion can happen and we couldn’t be happier.
