Gary Lamont To Work In The Fifth Season Of Starz Outlander
We have earlier reported that Season four’s finale has given larger room for fresh plots. It, however, seems that along with Fergus (César Domboy) and Marsali (Lauren Lyle) Scottish actor Gary Lamont will give the viewers some extra treat in the fifth season of Outlander. The other cast, chiefly, include Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Richard Rankin, and Sophie Skelton. The 13-episode fourth season telecasted the finale episode on January 27, 2019. However, Starz has greenlit the series for the fifth and the sixth season.
Gary Lamont excitedly announced his casting on Twitter. Fans welcomed him warmly on the show as they badly miss their River City actor on the screen.

Starz TV Series, Outlander Ready To Premiere The Fifth Season
The TV Series Outlander, in fact, is based on Diana Gabaldon’s books of the same name. It’s all about a Second World War nurse, Claire Randall,(Caitriona Balfe) who backpedaled in 1743 Scotland. It was the time of Jacobite risings. There, the Lady falls in love with Highlander Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
Season five will showcase the events from the fifth book, The Fiery Cross, which demonstrates the War of the Regulation in North Carolina (the first taxpayer’s rebellion). Here, Jamie Fraser’s will protect his family via setting up a community on Fraser’s Ridge. Claire, in fact, becomes the “conjure-woman”/healer for the Ridge whom, with Jamie supported by constructing her a two-story house with a built-in surgery. The theme for the fifth season is nothing but Loyalty.
The Cast Returns With Some Fresh Faces
Besides the new entry of Gary Lamont, Sophie Skelton would be returning as Brianna. Similarly, Richard Rankin is playing Brianna’s husband, Roger. Recurring characters, thus, include Marsali (Lauren Lyle), Lizzie (Caitlin O’Ryan), Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix), Ian (John Bell), Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy), Gerald (Billy Boyd), North Carolina governor William Tryon (Tim Downie), Gayle (Simona Brown) and Phaedre (Natalie Simpson). Cesar Domboy is playing Fergus.
In short, the Gary Lamont starrer season five synopsis is defined by executive producer Matthew B. Roberts who told The Hollywood Reporter
“Last season, the question was: Where is home — what is home? … Is it people? Is it the building that you’re in? This year, we know what home is — it’s family. It is this community. What lengths will you go to in order to keep that whole, to protect it? That’s the question we asked; that’s the question [Diana Gabaldon’s The Fiery Cross book] asks. So, we try to answer it throughout the season,”
Gary Lamont And Glasgow
Another promising delight for Gary Lamont associated with his addition in the fifth season of Outlander is that despite the series five have shifted from Scotland to the USA, segments of the series will still be filmed in Glasgow, the Gary Lamont’s homeland.
