Noah Centineo Opens Up About Dark Time In Life
Noah Centineo is the Netflix sweetheart we all know and adore. He’s best known for his Netflix rom-com, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. He then appeared in Sierra Burgess Is A Loser, Perfect Date, and Charlie’s Angels.
Noah Centineo’s Struggle With Drug Abuse
Noah Centineo has always been honest about his struggles with drug abuse in the past. He admitted to being sober from the day before his 21st birthday. Before that, he would often take Molly with his friends and then try to “get to the bottom of some really deep philosophical existential questions.”
“There wasn’t really much I wouldn’t do. I never, ever injected anything, which is good, i smoked a lot of things. I was really upset, man. It was a really dark time in my life,” he shared about his struggles.
He started taking drugs when he was just 17 years old and struggling with his career. In Harper’s Bazaar cover interview, Noah discussed it all along with his acting career and real-life boyfriend role to Alexis Ren which is also under the public eye.
Noah’s Life Goals
Although he is sober now and doing good, Noah Centineo is still somewhat confused about his future as an actor.
He calls it “More of a blessing than a curse. But ask me again in five years when maybe I’m boxed into it and can’t get out. If that’s my path, I might have a different answer for you, but at this point in time, I’m trying to enjoy every single moment of it.”
Noah Centineo also said he’s not too worried about how the public sees him. So he doesn’t mind taking projects that don’t fit the “adorable” image given to him by his Netflix rom-coms. “If I can maybe help them in some way through them discovering me, that makes it worth it. I found that’s the only thing that really matters is how you make people feel,” he said.
We hope our favorite Netflix boyfriend figures it all out. Until then, we’re really glad he’s doing much better now.
