Brad Pitt Acceptance Speech at Oscars Was Really Touching
Brad Pitt and his speeches....
By now, we know we can count on Brad Pitt for a weirdly unexpected twist on acceptance speeches. His SAG Awards speech was him thanking Margot Robbie’s feet and the BAFTA Awards speech shaded the royal couple exit. Last night, Brad Pitt won at the 92nd Academy Awards for his role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood for Best Supporting Actor. It was an iconic moment for Brad Pitt. Winning an Oscar is an honor. And Brad surely knows it.
Brad Pitt called his award an ‘honor of honors’ and rightfully so. The actor beat out Anthony Hopkins (The Two Popes), Al Pacino, Joe Pesci (both for The Irishman) and Tom Hanks (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood) to win the award.
Pitt Got Political in his speech
Brad Pitt got a little political in his speech on Sunday. Here’s what he said;
They told me I only have 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than Senate gave John Bolton got this week. I’m thinking maybe Quentin (Director – Once Upon A Time In Hollywood) does a movie about it. In the end the adults do the right thing.
Since we are not all that into politics, here’s the story behind this comment from the Washington Times.
The Republican-led Senate voted last month not to hear from the former national security adviser or other new witnesses who were not included in the House’s impeachment indictment against President Trump. The chamber acquitted Mr. Trump on a mostly party-line vote last week.
This basically means that Trump was not impeached and he was not found guilty of obstructing justice. Some witnesses like John Bolton could have shared something to give accurate evidence. But, the Senate failed to do so.
Brad Pitt Gets Emotional Too!
Pitt got a little emotional reminiscing the moment he first came into the industry.
I’m not one to look back but this has made me do so. I think of my folks taking me to the drive in to see Butch and Sundance and loading up my car and moving out, and Geena [Davis] and Ridley [Scott] giving me my first shot to all the wonderful people I’ve met along the way, to stand here now.
Moreover, he also thanked his kids in his acceptance speech:
This is for my kids, who color everything I do. I adore you.
We are so happy for him and proud of his achievements. He truly deserves the awards for his work!
