Originally “I am not okay with this” is a comic book by Charles Forsman, published in 2017. Netflix adapted this book into a series, which is coming pretty soon. The teaser just dropped and it’s awesome. Check it out right now, to add it to your watchlist. The complete season one will be available on February 26, 2020. Each episode will be around thirty minutes.

“I am not okay with this” storyline

Without dropping any major spoilers, I’ll give you an idea about what this season is about. Firstly, it is a coming-of-age teen drama. So if you are into that, read on. Basically, Syd is just another socially awkward teenager battling her way through the difficulties of high school. Apart from this, she has things to deal with at home as well. Unfortunately, she falls in love with her best friend, and quite painfully for her, the feelings aren’t mutual. So yeah, classic teen drama. However, what makes it super cool is – Syd has superpowers. Mental yeah?

Reasons to watch it

Well for one, the series is produced by 21 Laps Entertainment – the same guys who gifted us with Stranger Things and Night at the Museum. Also, it is directed by Jonathan Entwistle, who is known for “The End of the F***ing World”. Not only that, the cast is pretty cool too. Syd is played by “It’s” Sophia Lillis. Also, from “It” we have Wyatt Oleff playing Stanley Barber, who is Syd’s confident neighbor. Sofia Bryant, who plays the role of Dina, is Syd’s best friend. And Dina’s boyfriend Brad Lewis, whom we all don’t like, is played by Richard Ellis. Lastly, Syd’s mum is played by Kathleen Rose Perkins (Maggie), and brother Liam by Aidan Wojtak-Hissong.
