Netflix and Ryan Murphy are working to revive a classic character in the coming few months this year. Ratched with a release date of September 2020 has Murphy working as a producer, director and even creator. But that is not all, Netflix got the rights to the show after a heated bid battle between Hulu and Apple back in September 2017. The show also looks attractive as it will feature Sarah Paulson, Cynthia Nixon, Judy Davis and Sharon Stone.

Sarah Paulson’s New Netflix Show Ratched

Sarah Paulson will star as Nurse Ratchet, who is a famous character from a 1962 novel. The novel was turned into a movie first back in 1975, and now it will come back as a TV show. This will not be the first time when Murphy and Paulson will work together. They have previously paired up for American Horror Story Season 8 and also 2018’s thriller Bird Box. We will also get to see Jon Briones, Charlie Carver, Harriet harris and Finn Wittrock along with those mentioned earlier.

The TV show started filming back in February 2019, but it should be close to getting done by now. It was back in last February when a Twitter profile release pictures of Paulson for Ratched. It is also reported that the series is filming in California, in Cannery Row, Monterey. The setup is possibly going to be a beachside hospital in the World War II era.

It is quite odd for a TV show filming to take this long. According to Whats-On-Netflix, the filming completed back in July 2019 and Ratched had a release date of early 2020. However, IMDB recently updated its page for the show and they are showing it is set for release in September this year.

Moreover, Ratched is also going to span over at least two seasons. The announcement of the show came with a second season announcement as well. In fact, Murphy has also told on record that show will probably be going to have a total four seasons. He also said:

“[Nurse Ratchet] would face off against a different male adversary each season; with the fourth and final season blending One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest [the novel] into the narrative.”

September is when we get to see what Murphy has in store for us!
