Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Quiet Life
After abdicating their royal titles and privileges, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are enjoying a quiet retreat in Vancouver, Canada. Their decision to do so reared up a lot of tabloid attention and havoc in the palace as well. But now, the weight has been lifted from their shoulders. A friend tells this week’s issue of People:
This decision [to leave] had been weighing on them for a long time, and they are relieved to have it done. A weight has been lifted off their shoulders.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Enjoy a Simple Life
Since their announcement of departing the royal life, they have begun a valiant chapter of their lives. The couple is enjoying a simple life away from all the rules that dictated their old life. The prince and his beloved wife enjoy long walks, hiking and spending time with their son, Archie.
With their recent freedom, Harry and Meghan have readily adapted to the new lifestyle. They are staying at their fourteen million dollar mansion near Vancouver Island in Canada. A friend has said:
They both love to be outside and have been loving it there. When they’re not doing yoga or eating in, Harry will pick up sandwiches at a local spot, and Meghan walks her beloved rescue beagle Guy and the couple’s adopted Labrador.
Price for Megxit
The royal couple’s newfound freedom has come with a price. A series of intense meetings with Harry’s ninety-three-year-old grandmother, The Queen, took place after their announcement to back down as senior royals. They will no longer use HRH titles (His / Her Royal Highness), Harry has to surrender youth ambassador to the commonwealth. Most unfortunately, Harry had to abdicate his honorary military appointments. “It brings me great sadness that it has come to this,” he said on Jan. 19.
A palace insider told People:
The military was a part of his upbringing and his life. He brought a lot to those guys and understood things. It is sad.
As the noise after Megxit simmers down, Meghan is keeping a low profile and keeping close ties with her circle. Whether the couple will continue to retain their Royal Sussex branding is still unclear.
