Oscars 2020 is just a couple of days away. The world’s biggest annual Award Ceremony will see several deserving people get the recognition they deserve for their contribution to the Entertainment industry. When it comes to the best Lead Actress, it’s difficult to pick one! Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, Saoirse Ronan, Cynthia Erivo and Renée Zellweger are the 5 names in the said pool.
We have our minds set on who will be victorious this time around. So, here is our prediction on which Actress will get to deliver a fantabulous speech at the upcoming event!
Renée Zellweger: An Undisputed Winner!
There’s no doubt that Zellweger gave a career-best performance in the biographical feature centered on Judy Garland’s life. No one could have aced the role of the American singer and actress better than Zellweger. The sense of realness reflected in her performance made the movie even more gripping. Moreover, she has been picking up momentum lately with her recent BAFTA and Golden Globe wins for the same category! Oscars 2020, you’re next!
Leading and standing out in a film that stars the likes of Emma Watson, Meryl Steep and Laura Dern, is an achievement in its own right. While our prediction doesn’t favor Ronan for her performance in Little Women, she is someone to look out for in the years that will come!
We consider Cynthia Erivo as a strong Lead Actress nominee. How she brought the character of the slave-turned-abolitionist, Harriet Tubman, to life in Harriet speaks volumes about her acting chops. Although we still stand by our original pick, we wouldn’t be shocked if Erivo grabs the Award!
Theron looked fierce in Bombshell, but was her performance fierce enough to grab an Oscar? We don’t think so!
Scarlett is a living proof that there’s room for improvement even beyond perfection. She has upped her performance with every successive film she worked in. While we don’t see her winning an Academy Award this time around, something tells us that she will grab a couple of these by the time this decade ends!
Do you have the same winner in mind as we do for this category of Oscars 2020? Or are you rooting for someone else? We’d love to find out!
