Christina Koch (NASA) Makes New Space Record and shares Amazing Space Pictures

NASA Astronaut Christina Koch just made a new space record by beating fellow American Peggy Whitson. She spent 328 days on this ISS(International Space Station) surpassing Peggy’s 298-day and falling just 12 days short of Scot Kelly’s record. She, Luca Parmitano and Alexander Skvortsov landed back safely to earth in the Soyuz spacecraft at 9:12 GMT. Ms. Koch also shared some amazing pictures of earth from space during her stay.

Christina Koch’s breaks Women’s Spaceflight Record

The ambitious American engineer has become one of the most inspirational personalities of 2020 after her latest adventure. NASA astronaut Christina Koch has become the only woman to break all spaceflight records beating Peggy Whitson’s 298-day record.

Her 328-day stay on the ISS consists of 5248 orbits of Earth which translates into a whopping 223 million km or 139 million miles. It is equivalent to 291 trips to the Moon and back.

Christina Koch was accompanied by the European Space Agency’s Luca Parmitano and Russian Space Agency’s Alexander Skvortsov. The three Superheros touched down safely in the Kazakh Steppe after completing their mission.

A couple of hours prior to landing, she told gave an interview to NBC from the International Space Station. Christina Koch told NBC that she will miss the lack of gravity.

It’s really fun to be in a place where you can just bounce around between the ceiling and the floor whenever you want.

The North Carolina State University (NCSU) graduate also told journalists that she strives to be a source of inspiration for the next generation of space explorers.

For me, it’s all about the honor I feel to follow in the footsteps of my heroes. it was important to see people that I saw a reflection of myself in. I was envisioning what I could do with my life and what my dreams might be. To maybe be that source of inspiration for someone else is just such an honor.
