Oscars 2020 Predictions | Best Animated Feature
The Oscars 2020 is only a few days away and we’re locking in our predictions. But we’re not betting our close to not even deserved to be called fortune on this category. Why? Because it’s so unpredictable!
The Nominees for Best Animated Films Oscars 2020
The nominations include:
- “Toy Story 4”
- “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”
- “I Lost My Body”
- “Missing Link”
And the Winner is….. Klaus
It’s been a while since the animated feature category has been this unpredictable. Last year, Sony’s ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ caused an upset by repeatedly beating out ‘Incredibles 2’ on the road to the Oscars.
But at least by the time the ceremony rolled around, its victory was a done deal. Now, in a year where the big Walt Disney Animation entry, ‘Frozen II’, wasn’t even nominated and the Pixar title, ‘Toy Story 4’, isn’t a clear front-runner, the rest of the nominees are left scrabbling over the top prize.
Laika’s stop-motion feature ‘Missing Link’ picked up a Golden Globe last month, but at the Annie Awards—the most reliable predictor for this Oscar category—the two Netflix films cleaned up. With Klaus landing seven wins and ‘I Lost My Body’ taking home three. In other words, a win for Netflix might be the surest bet in this category.
Oscars would probably go with recent BAFTA winner ‘Klaus’. We personally want ‘I lost my body’ to win.
