Going into the second month of 2020, most of us are anticipating what blockbusters will be dropped this year. With January bringing underrated movies like Bad Boys for Life (starring Will Smith) and underwhelming ones like Dolittle, let’s see what February has in store for us:

Birds of Prey

The DC universe is off to a great start this year with Joker snatching 11 Oscar nominations. They’ll be starting this year with Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). At first glance, it may seem like a solo Harley Quinn movie portrayed by Margot Robbie, but it isn’t. With an A-team of comic book characters like Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) & Black Canary, the Birds of Prey will fight off the villain Black Mask in a synopsis full of action and comedy, as we will come to learn about the life of Harley Quinn post-Suicide Squad. If there is one thing we can take from last year’s movies like Joker and Shazam, it is that DC is going to give serious competition to Marvel this year; with Wonder Woman 1984 releasing later this year.

Birds of Prey theatrical release in the US is tomorrow: February 7, 2020.

Sonic The Hedgehog

This movie has been through a rough ride that needs no introduction. In fact, It had a massively criticized release trailer and Sony postponed the movie for redesigning. Even Jim Carrey couldn’t save a movie full of bad CGI. However, the redesigning proved fruitful and most people are excited to see their favorite Sega videogame come to life in the cinema this month. It appears the movie will be somewhat sticking to its original roots, as Sonic tries to escape Dr. Robotnik and the government with the help of a local sheriff. Even if the movie proves to be disappointing for the hardcore fans, it sure has provided us with a lot of memes pre-release.

A unique gift for Valentine’s day, Sonic The Hedgehog releases on February 14, 2020.

The Lodge

The Lodge gets released this week so horror fans will also have something to root for. It has your typical setting of a family stuck in a far-away holiday lodge in the winter. The movie mixes up the family drama with the unexpected horrors of a mass cult suicide that took place ages ago. This movie is going to be full of jumpscares and screams. Make sure you are not weak-hearted before you go to the theaters to see this one out.

Initially premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, The Lodge will be released on February 7, 2020.

The Call of The Wild

Starring Harrison Ford and Karen Gillan, this movie is bound to be heartbreaking for pet owners all over the world, as it revolves around the story of how a dog is stolen and sold into service to Alaska where he comes across the beautiful wilderness and a man who does not give a care about anything in the world. The adventures of a man and his dog in the wild is a must-watch for pet owners.

Ordinary Love

Liam Neeson takes a break from action movies to portray the character of Tom, a middle-aged man who has to deal with her wife Joan’s breast cancer diagnosis. It beautifully depicts the stories of couples all around the world. They go through the heart-wrenching pain of supporting their partner as they wait for impending death.
