Director Andy Serkis Has An Update On Tom Hardy’s Venom 2

We don’t have a trailer yet, but we do have director Andy Serkis to give us updates. Tom Hardy’s newest superhero movie, Venom 2 has an update to share with the world. The last we have seen of this black, head-chomping, alien Symbiote was when Eddie Brock finally accepts what abilities he really has. Roaming the streets as Venom, he tries to fight bad guys on the streets, although the alien is open to all kinds of people.

What Does Andy Serkis Has Got To Say?

Honestly, there is not much to go about over what the director said. We already know what to expect from Venom 2, thanks to the mid-credit scene. We know that Carnage aka Cletus Kasady is going to come. He’s going to be played by Woody Harrelson. So now it will be up to the journalist Eddie Brock, who now successfully carries an alien inside him, to stop him.

According to Digital Spy, Andy Serkis, who is also popular from his role as Gollum in Lord of the Rings, told them during EE British Academy Film Awards:

“Well, you know, I really can’t talk too much about it I know, boring. But we’re 40 days into the shoot and it’s really thrilling. We’ve got the magnificent Tom Hardy, who’s obviously at the centre of it. And we sort of see a deepening of the relationship between him and obviously there’s a nemesis character and… that’s all I can say.”

Let’s highlight this one more time: Andy Serkis reveals that Venom 2 has started production. In fact, it’s been 40 days now. However, he does not want to reveal the antagonist of the sequel, even though we know who it will be. Or do we? That is because all we know for now is that Kasady is in jail. But why call him “a nemesis” rather than “the nemesis”?

Venom 2 will hit theatres this October 2020.
