Adam Sandler Extends His Deal With Netflix To Create More Content
Adam Sandler’s possibly best ever performance in ‘Uncut Gems’ might not have given him golden statuettes or globes. However, it is sure presenting him with a lot of recognition of his skills. With people continuing to show love to the star, Netflix has also decided to show some of their own. One of the biggest streaming services, Netflix has decided to extend their movie deals with Adam Sandler. This will give him a chance to make a total of 12 movies for them in total. It was in back 2015 when he starred in ‘The Ridiculous 6’ for the first time for the streaming platform.
Adam Sandler To Make More Netflix Movies
On January 31, Netflix announced that they were extending their movie deals with Adam Sandler to four additional movies. This deal is exclusive of his current movie Hubie Halloween, which comes out later this year. This deal means that Sandler will continue to be with Netflix for the foreseeable future.
Here is what Netflix Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos said about him:
“Whether you know him as Sandman, the Water Boy, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Nick Spitz, or simply Adam, on thing is clear: Our Members can’t get enough of him. They love his stories and his humor, as we say with Murder Mystery.”
Up till this year, Adam Sandler has starred in the following movies for Netflix:
- The Ridiculous Six
- The Do-Over
- Sandy Wexler
- The Week Of
- Murder Mystery
- Hubie Halloween
As you might notice, none of these movies are critically acclaimed titles. However, they did significantly well on Netflix’s streaming platform. In fact, some of them are most watched movies of 2019 as well.
The conclusion is really simple: people just love Adam Sandler’s humor and they want more of it. That is why ‘Uncut Gems’ became hugely popular, although it could not win him rewards. Perhaps Sandler’s best rewards are stored in statistics that show only love.
