RuPaul Charles, born in California is a 59-year-old American drag queen, actor, model, singer, songwriter, and television personality. He is the host of the reality competition series “RuPaul’s Drag Race” since 2009. He is also the producer of the show for which he has earned six Primetime Emmy Awards. On January 10, 2020, his new comedy show “AJ and the Queen” released on Netflix. RuPaul is famous for bringing drag into the mainstream media through his stardom. Not only that he has also created a platform for the LGBTQ community in pop culture.

AJ and the Queen’s cast and storyline

Ruby Red (RuPaul Charles) is a Drag Queen and the main lead character of the show. It is her dream to open a Drag Club. For this reason, she has saved $100,000. But unfortunately, she made the mistake of trusting her boyfriend. He runs away with all her money leaving her penniless. So she puts all her anger in her work and does extra hours to perform in different shows. Fate brings her to meet an eleven-year-old kid AJ (Izzy G.), whose mother is an addict. AJ is on the search for her father. After some troubles, Ruby Red (RuPaul Charles) and AJ accompany each other on the road, where they encounter new people and learn about life itself.
The cast also includes 22 members from the show Drag Race. Meanwhile, with the series success across the globe, there is definitely going to be a season 2. Many storylines are building and are captivating enough that there is no doubt for an additional season. It is expected that the season 2 will also be released in January 2021. Although no official date has yet been given, we are solely judging by the success of the show “AJ and the Queen“.
