Gabrielle Union Calls Out Terry Crews For Defending AGT
Terry Crews is one of the few celebrities of America’s Got Talent who knows what goes on behind the scene. When he decides to take a step to support the show and not the one who fell victim, Gabrielle Union did not like it. Union, who was a former judge of the show, quit after saying “enough” to the offensive events that were happening to her behind the scenes from the management and rest of the team. We were assuming that Crews must know about these events as well but, things look different.
Terry Crews Didn’t Experience Any Racism
Gabrielle Union’s remarks come after what Crews told in an interview about AGT. Though he refrained from commenting on sexism (since he is a male colleague), he cleared any doubts of racism. He said,
“That was never my experience on America’s Got Talent. In fact, it was the most diverse place I have ever been in my 20 years of entertainment. The top 10 acts were Asian, women, older, younger, Black, white—it was everything in the gamut.”
Terry Crews seemingly does not want to believe the accusation due to which Gabrielle Union resigned, because they are from “unnamed source”. Although, he tried his best to soften his comments by telling that one should always believe women, and he even asked his wife about what to do. Crews told that she told him,
“She was like, first of all, if it’s coming from an unnamed source—because Gabrielle Union has not made any statement to this day about any of these allegations publicly.”
Gabrielle Union Says He Didn’t Step Up For The Truth
Obviously this interview reached Union who was not happy about it. She put out a tweet which we think is directed at her former colleague:
“Truth telling, wanting change & having MULTIPLE witnesses who bravely came forward to let EVERYONE know I didn’t lie or exaggerate, really exposes those who enthusiastically will throw you under the bus, forgetting quickly who stepped up 4 THEIR truth.”
Gabrielle Union remains the only star to publicly voice the racist and sexist culture of the show. Heidi Klum and Julianne Hough both tell that they had a wonderful experience on the show. However, NBC is perhaps slightly acknowledging Union’s claims by saying that there is room for improvement.
