Jude Law Spent 3 Hours learning about Dumbledore from JK Rowling
Jude Law recalls spending three hours with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling when preparing to play the role of a young Albus Dumbledore, the future headmaster of Hogwarts, in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’.
Jude Law portrayed the young Albus Dumbledore in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’. The actor is due to reprise his role in Fantastic Beasts 3. The film will focus more on the character and his time at Hogwarts.
While promoting his movie, The New Pope actor told Vanity Fair:
“I think one of the beautiful moments in preparation was working with J.K. Rowling. I spent an afternoon when she gave me the entire history of this great character. I remember she went in and she was having tea. She had these incredible heels on. She said ‘OK, if you don’t mind I’m going to stand up.”
While tapping into the character and describing his notion, the actor believed that the character has a youthful approach to life but still carries a heavy heart. He further added that the character had a sense of self and a sense of past with good humor and heart.
Jude Law On Past Dumbledore Renditions
While referring to the character’s renditions done by Harris and Gambon in the prequels, Law explained:
“I’m sure they were in the back of my mind, because I’d seen their work and admired both of them as actors, greatly. I talked with [director] David Yates about that and we both decided that it wasn’t necessary to do an impersonation of one of them as a younger man,”
Fantastic Beasts 3 Release Date
Fantastic Beasts is currently scheduled for a release on November 12, 2021. The movie was initially delayed due to preproduction reasons in July 2019. The movie is set to be bigger than the last two to cope with the relative disappointment of the fans, critics and at the box office.
