Adam Sandler Wants To Be Like Star Wars’ Lando Calrissian
Star Wars’ star Billy Dee Williams and Uncut Gems star Adam Sandler bonded over a light Twitter conversation. Apparently, both of the stars were wearing matching, if not the same, outfits in one part of their respective movies. Although the movie itself has not featured in the recently announced Academy Award nominations, those who watched Sandler’s movie praise it. They say that this is perhaps the best performance by the star. Josh and Bennie Safdie directed the movie and feature Adam Sandler as an eccentric jeweler in NYC who is growing a liking towards betting and gambling.
Adam Sandler Praises Billy Dee Williams
Uncut Gems starring Adam Sandler has become a huge success for everyone involved. Rotten Tomatoes rated the movie at a 92% as ScreenRant writes. The movie competed with the likes of Greta Gerwig’s Little Women, Disney’s Frozen 2 and The Rise of Skywalker. However, despite being a competition Billy Dee Williams did not stop himself from reaching out to Sandler. On Twitter, he posted the following:

Billy Dee noticed that he was wearing similar outfits during his scene in the Star Wars movie as Lando Calrissian. To this, Sandler posted a respectful reply:
Who doesn’t want to be you Billy Dee? https://t.co/3e5r73BMHz

It was all the way back in ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’ when Williams appeared in the story as Lando Calrissian. he then returned in J J Abrams’ The Rise of Skywalker to reprise his role. The film may have received mix critics and reactions from the audience, but people did welcome Williams’ comeback as Calrissian.
The interaction between Sandler and BD Williams is evidence that even two movies are in competition, performers do not always take it as a challenge to bring each other down. The Star Wars movie might have made a bigger initial launch impact. Then again, that ended quickly, making room for other great titles such as Uncut Gems.
The movie may not have featured in the Oscars, but people still consider it to be Adam Sandler’s greatest work yet.
