Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Responds To Filming Rumours For Next Phase
Either Simu Liu has a great sense of humor, or Marvel is reaching outside the box, or maybe only half of it is true. Marvel’s first Asian lead responds to the filming rumors for his movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The Marvel Phase 4 is officially underway with productions and filming happening for several movies and tv shows. Hence, it is quite normal for filming rumors to catch up with the Shang-Chi movie as fans want to know what’s happening.
Simu Liu Talks About His Upcoming Shang-Chi movie
Liu posted a video on Reddit where he talked about the filming of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. However, the video is not what you might think it is as we believe it is full of sarcasm. Watch it below and see for yourselves.
The tone of his voice is quite evident that a lot of what he said is just a joke and sarcasm. He told that he finished his day 1 of filming one of the 12 musical numbers. He said that he has been practicing Jazz and tap dancing for months for this movie. In fact, he also joked about being in Singapore where, apparently, movie production is happening. Unfortunately, there is not much to refer to as no solid news is coming from Marvel Studios or the director.
However, Marvel boss Kevin Feige did talk about Shang-Chi in the following way:
“I went to my then assistant Jonathan Schwartz, who is now in Australia producing Shang-Chi & The Legend of The Ten Rings that goes into production in a few months.”
Feige also said that Shang-Chi will be more than just a kung-fu movie. It will have elements of things that we will get excited about.
But, regardless of what Simu Liu said in his video, can we at least say that the filming is underway in some unknown location? Marvel Phase 4 has officially begun its production, with the first movie Black Widow coming out this year in May. Shang-Chi will follow after The Eternals, in February 2021.
