Robert Downey Jr Aka Tony Stark Talks About His MCU Fate
Is it possible that Iron Man, or Tony Stark, will return in some form? Robert Downey Jr surely has an answer for this as he talked about his future in the Marvel universe. Playing as a “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” the former MCU star served the studio in around 10 movies before his character’s death in one of the greatest superhero movies, Avengers: Endgame. The way Tony Stark aged, Captain America from the first Avengers movie would have never have imagined this:
“You’re not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you.”
Robert Downey Jr Is Excited to See “How All That Goes”
The news comes from Robert Downey Jr’s interview on Extra TV alongside his wife Susan Downey. When asked if Tony Stark, or Iron Man, will return in the future Marvel movies, the star said that anything could happen. However, he also added this:
“As far as I’m concerned, I hung up my guns and I’m good to let it go. I also think that Marvel is on this journey now, they’re trying a bunch of other stuff and you know, I’m excited for them to see how all that goes.”
DigitalSpy is also reporting that Robert Downey Jr will be reprising his old role as Iron Man for this year’s movie Black Widow. Although Scarlet Johanson’s character Natasha died in the Avengers Endgame, the movie will feature her back story, before she joined Avengers. Due to this, fans are guessing if there is a chance for Tony Stark’s comeback in any future movies such as this one. Unfortunately, the star himself has given us only a tiny bit of hope.
We still remember when Cap told Iron Man,
“You may not be a threat but you better stop pretending to be a hero.”
There might be incredibly slim chances for Robert Downey Jr’s return to the MCU, but you can watch Scarlett Johansson as Natasha again on May 1, 2020, in Black Widow.
