Selena Gomez’s Album Release Will Mark Her End On Instagram
The ‘Lose You To Love Me’ singer Selena Gomez recent joined Instagram once again when she had to release two new songs. With 165 million followers, Gomez is the 5th most followed profile on Instagram. Surely, this news broke the hearts of the Selenators, but the singer has her own reasons to take a break from Instagram.
Selena Gomez Needs Break From Instagram After Her Album Release
Selena Gomez will be releasing her new album Rare today, 10th of January 2020. Once the album is released, she will be taking her hiatus from Instagram. Of course, this isn’t the first time Gomez has quit Instagram. The singer took a break from Instagram following the engagement of ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber with Hailey Baldwin. Reportedly, Gomez went it to therapy as she wanted to focus on her mental health during this difficult period. Releasing ‘Lose You To Love Me’, she came back on Instagram and since then has shared her updates with fans.
Following the release, Gomez believes she needs time off from Instagram for her mental health. Talking to the Wall Street Journal, Gomez shared that she will be deleting Instagram from her phone once she releases her album. She even discussed this with her best friend Courtney Lopez.
“I took a break off Insta for a year, maybe a year and a half. I’d rather stay away from anything that’s going to make me feel like shit.”
Gomez believes that once she was addicted to the app and it made her feel sad about herself, ruining her mental health. “I always end up feeling like shit when I look at Instagram,” the singer revealed in her interview.
Selena Gomez has changed a lot about herself and this will be seen in her album as well. The last year, according to the singer, was the time when she reflected on her mental health. It was a relief for her. The singer found acceptance and realization she never had before.
Surely, Selena Gomez taking time off Instagram will make us miss her, but mental health comes before everything and anything.
