Phoebe Waller-Bridge Says That There Is No Fleabag Season 3
When the final season of Fleabag was ending, Fleabag confesses her for the Hot Priest. Even though that man is out of bounds, and she knows that we all expect the start of something there. But, as mentioned earlier, this was the final moment of the show, after which screen credits rolled. So is there going to be Fleabag season 3? The actor-writer of the show Phoebe Waller-Bridge, unfortunately, denies it.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge Said “This Is The Final Curtain”
“I feel like it’s done, but I do have a fantasy of bringing her back when I’m like, 45 or 50.”
The show’s creator feels that Fleabag has gone over a big journey for two seasons. From being a person who hates herself to turning into a more hopeful and believing person, this is really big for a girl like Fleabag. However, WB reiterates that she has to respect such an arc and one way to do that is to “let her go and live for a bit”.
As for the rest of the cast, even the seemingly feel the same way as Waller-Bridge. Sian Clifford, who stars as Claire, admitted that although she is desperate to play Claire again, the show ended in a complete and perfect way.
“I know it’s a contentious issue but I think it’s so hopeful, that ending, because she [Claire] finally opened herself up to love and being vulnerable which I think is our most powerful asset.”
Brett Gelman, who stars as Martin (or Claire’s husband) thinks that there might be a return sometime in the future. Speaking to Vanity Fair, he spoke about Waller-Bridge that she is just like Jay Z and Day-Lewis of showrunners, where they get to announce the end of things. However, Gelman also said, “then she comes back and people go crazy.”
While there are only slimmest of chances for Fleabag season 3, perhaps this is the time that we switch to watching BBC’s Killing Eve, which Phoebe Waller-Bridge also created.
