Mrs. Doubtfire is a beloved American comedy-drama film. The Golden Globe winner (Best Motion Picture) film came to American screens in 1993. The movie’s success is eminent to this day. Following the love and adoration that revolves around the movie, the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle produced a musical. Now, the brilliantly executed musical is coming to Broadway!

The Musical has earned $4.7 million in its 42 performances in Seattle. Woah. We believe that the reason behind such success is that fans looked forward to the sequel which was canceled since Robin Williams passed away.

The musical is directed by Tony Award-winning director Jerry Saks with Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick handling the adaptation’s score.

Mrs. Doubtfire The Musical – Broadway Cast

Robin Williams played the role of Mrs. Doubtfire in the original movie. He won the Golden Globe for Best Actor for his performance in it as well. Mrs. Doubtfire is a very well-written character so, the expectations are high. She is actually the female alter-ego of the father who lost custody of his children after his divorce. Rob McClure will be playing this role in the Broadway Musical. He has appeared in some good scripts like ‘Something Rotten’ and ‘Beetlejuice’.

So, we know the ex-husband. The ex-wife, Miranda Hillard, is going to be played by Jenn Gambatese. Miranda Hillard is the mom to three kids; Lydia, Christopher, and Natalie. Sally Field portrayed this role in the original film. The character is currently dating her new man; Stuart Dunmeyer. Mark Evans will be playing this role. So far the cast seems pretty interesting, doesn’t it?

Analise Scarpaci, Jake Ryan Flynn, and Avery Sell will be playing Lydia, Christopher, and Natalie, respectively.

Often times though film adaptations don’t become successful in theaters. However, with Mrs. Doubtfire, the response so far has been sensational. Although, we do hope that we see the same response in March, too.
