Offset arrested for Drug and Gun Possession
Rapper Offset has been arrested by authorities outside Atlanta recently. Apparently, the rapper had possession of a gun and drugs. This unfortunate incident happened ten days after Cardi B and Offset had their baby girl.
Offset was pulled over by cops for having tinted windows and changing lanes improperly. And during the investigation, three hand guns were found in his car. Also, an ounce of marijuana and $107,000 in cash led to the rapper ending up behind the bards. According to reports, he has been charged with illegal possession of marijuana, possession of a weapon during a crime and for changing lanes improperly. Offset was driving a 2014 Porsche 911 Carerra when he shifted lanes at Upper Riverdale Road and Tara Boulevard. At the time of arrest, Offset was accompanied by his body guard who was also taken into custody right away.
This is not the first time that Offset has seen something like this with the law. The rapper was previously arrested back in 2016 when he was found driving with a suspended license in Atlanta. Offset also spent some time behind the bars in 2015 when he was found in possession of weapons and drugs after a concert at Georgia Southern University.
Even though Offset was already on a 5-year probation for being arrested on charges of drug and weapons in 2015, the rapper has done it yet again. However, his attorney Drew Findling told the media that the rapper had received an early termination. This time when Offset was arrested, Findling claimed that it was done because his client is rich and black. He said that,
It’s a common theme. We’re talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry. Unfortunately people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity … and that is a sad statement.
According to recent posts on Cardi B’s Instagram, the rapper has been bailed out. She posted a picture with her husband and captioned it ‘Home’. Cardi B also posted a photo telling everyone that despite rumors the rapper is no longer on probation.
