A Trans Character To Be Introduced In Marvel Movies “Very Soon” – Marvel

Marvel Studios president and Chief Creative Officer (CCO) Kevin Feige has big things in plan for the LGBT community it seems. Proud that the Disney-owned franchise is inspiring other companies to make cinema experience better, Feige also hinted at releasing a movie with a trans character. Right now, we do not know which LGBTQ Marvel character is coming on screen, however, it seems we will soon find out. That’s because Feige also said that the movie has started filming as well!

Kevin Feige On Marvel’s Trans Character

It was during a New York Film Academy’s Q&A session when an audience member asked Kevin Feige about this. A curious member wanted to know if there were any plans for the biggest studio in the world to introduce an LGBT character in the MCU. The person then changed his question to specifically ask about a trans character.

The video that has surfaced does not make it clear if Feige responded to the former question or the latter. However, there is still enough news that something special for the LGBT community is coming up.

“Yes, absolutely yes, and very soon. In a movie we’re shooting right now.”

Now, looking at Marvel movies that are shooting as of now, there is a chance that the Marvel trans character can be present in the Black Widow movie. On the other hand, it can also mean that it can be in a Black Panther sequel as well, releasing in May 2022.

Apart from these two, there is also The Eternals (starring Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, and Kumail Nanjiani) in the works, releasing on November 6. If we look beyond this, we can also see Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (Feb 2021), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 2021) and Thor: Love & Thunder (Nov 2021).

In the next Thor movie, Marvel also has a plan for LGBT characters (perhaps even trans). Deadline is reporting that Feige has told that Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) will pick up Thor’s hammer in the sequel. Moreover, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) will be stepping out as an openly queer character there. This is quite accurate for Valkyrie, who is shown as a bisexual in Marvel comics.
