‘Uncharted’ Movie By Sony Loses Its Director Travis Knight
Tom Holland’s upcoming movie alongside Mark Wahlberg, ‘Uncharted’, is having scheduling issues. Its current director Travis Knight has decided to leave after seeing Holland’s Spiderman movie come under conflict with this one. The director is famous for his work on the Transformers movie, ‘Bumblebee’. For now, Sony is adamant to push the movie forward with a new director and both the stars (Wahlberg and Holland) will remain attached.
Uncharted Movie Faces Scheduling Conflicts
Deadline reports that Sony still wishes to proceed with the production of the film with a new director and release date. The ‘Uncharted’ movie is a live-action movie for Naughty Dog’s PlayStation game series Uncharted. The mystery-adventure game is one of the top PlayStation 4 games and “The Lost Legacy” is the latest in the series.
For Tom Holland, he has a big chance to extend his relationship with Sony. Apart from featuring as Marvel’s Spiderman, Sony can now take Holland for Uncharted movie as well. The Marvel movie is set to start it’s shooting this year in 2020.
As per Collider, because of the mid-production date of the co-produced Sony/Disney Spiderman movie, ‘Uncharted’ is getting a push. Unfortunately, Travis Knight has to be the one to take the damage for this conflict of schedule. However, Sony is lucky to have Mark Wahlberg and Holland remain with the movie amidst its big change of plans. Moreover, writer Rafe Judkins, who also worked on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, will also stay with Sony for the movie.
Travis Knight’s name will now fall in the list of several other filmmakers who tried to make the movie. This list includes Shawn Levy from Stranger Things and Neil Burger from Divergent. Others include David O. Russell (The Fighter), Seth Gordon (Baywatch) and 10 Cloverfield Lane’s Dan Trachtenberg.
We do not yet know about who will be taking over the seat of the director this time. But whoever they will be, let’s be hopeful that they get the job done this time!
