Latest “Top Gun: Maverick” Footage Shows Tom Cruise Fighting G-Force
I don’t know about you guys but watching this latest footage of Top Gun: Maverick really got me all riled up. Jerry Bruckheimer and Tom Cruise are pushing things to the edge in this one. They are trying to give the audience the best performance in a fighter jet movie, and that means live recording. If you love the original Top Gun movie, wait till you hear about this: IMAX cameras right in front of the pilot, meaning great 4K shots. This pretty much explains how thrilling the movie will be on IMAX theatres!
Top Gun: Maverick Takes On G-Force!
The trailer above is enough to send shivers down my spine as I remember the time when I first watched the movie. I was going through the nostalgia of teenage thrill of fast cars and sound barrier-cracking fighter jets.
Top Gun: Maverick has released another footage where actors actually sat inside a fighter jet in order to shoot live facial expressions while facing heavy G-Forces.
“Its a love letter to aviation. We’re gonna show you what it’s really like to be a Top Gun pilot!”
Bruckheimer tells the audience in the video. Here is the full footage of the latest release:
“You just can’t create this kind of experience unless you shoot it live. In order for us to accomplish this, we have the greatest fighter pilots working with us.”
Tom Cruise said in the video.
He also talked about the aggressive nature of training he and his colleague actors had to go through. The movie required them to face G-force of up to 7.5 to 8, which is similar to 1600 lbs (~725 kg) of force. The new IMAX technology allowed director Joseph Kosinski to place a number of cameras inside the cockpit to get several angles of the pilots as they twist and turn their aircraft.
Top Gun: Maverick is a sequel to renowned Top Gun movie, which is coming out after 34 years. The movie will feature Top Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Miles Teller, Monica Barbaro, Glen Powell, Val Kilmer, and others. The movie releases in cinemas on June 26, 2020.
