Since all Star Wars movies are shifting to Disney’s latest streaming platform, Disney+, are we going to get *all* movies? By all, we mean Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker included. The streaming service is taking all the Disney, or related shows off from other streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu. Hence, is there a chance we can get to see the new Star Wars movie soon?

Is Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Coming To Disney+?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is a lot of time since its release for the new Star Wars movie to come to the digital platform. In fact, it will take approximately seven months for the Episode IX to launch in Disney+. Senior vice president Content Agnes Chu said:

“There are films that work really well in theaters and require the big screen.”

This means that the new movies that are coming out these days like Frozen 2 and Toy Story 4 will take about seven months. According to this trend, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will come to Disney+ around in summers 2020.

It’s only been a few weeks since the new Disney streaming platform launched. But the fans have already started asking for new titles and those that are not available yet. However, like The Last Jedi movie, there are some titles that have bindings to their contracts with other platforms like Netflix. This is the reason that this episode will come out on December 26.

Disney is slowly building something great for its young digital service. Sparing no expense on programming, the budget is likely to cross USD 1 billion in 2020. The Mandalorian, a Star Wars spin-off show, alone costs around USD 15 million an episode. Meanwhile, THR reports that the upcoming Marvel series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” costs up to USD 25 million an episode.

There is already a great deal of marketing done for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. A major one being its crossover with one of the biggest game Fortnite. With this much development happening at Disney, perhaps Disney+ is indeed something to look forward to for all of us. Here is what the critics are saying about the latest Star Wars movie.
