Daniel Radcliffe’s Prison Break in ‘Escape from Pretoria’
Prison break stories make for a good story line.
The kid with the magic wand from the Harry Potter series is planning a prison break in his upcoming flick. The new trailer shows Daniel Radcliffe in the new movie Escape from Pretoria. In it, we see him embody the role of Tim Jenkin, a prisoner in Pretoria prison. Francis Annan is directing the movie. We’re going to see the movie hit the theaters in March 2020.
What is Daniel Radcliffe’s new Thriller about?
The new trailer shows Daniel Radcliffe’s plan for a prison break. Just like any other prison escape movie, Escape from Pretoria seems like a good one too. It has an Escape from Alcatraz vibe to it.
Escape from Pretoria is an adaptation of the book by Tim Jenkin of the same name. The true story is based on real-life events involving Jenkin. Writer, activist and once a political prisoner is best known for his 1979 Escape from Pretoria (local prison).
Here is the official synopsis of the movie and it’s an interesting one.
Daniel stars as Tim Jenkin – a real-life ANC activist. He was in Africa’s maximum-security prison Pretoria in the 1970s. Along with two imprisoned fellow freedom fighters, played by Daniel Webber and Mark Leonard Winter. Tim escaped on 11th December 1970 using hand-made wooden keys which he crafted whilst incarcerated.
Who else is in the Movie?
The Punisher’s Daniel Webber is playing the role of Stephen Lee. Enemy of the State’s Ian Hart is portraying Denis Goldberg and Stephen Hunter of The Hobbit Trilogy is embodying Peter Jenkin in Escape from Pretoria.
Karol Griffiths is the story developer and L.H Adams is the co-writer of the new Daniel Radcliffe prison break movie. It is going to hit the big screens on 6th March next year.
