The years between 2010 and 2019 were for gamers, to say the least. From bringing back old franchises to coming up with unique gaming experience, we know how excited this decade was for us. Since the year is about to end, it is time we pause and look back at some of the top games of this decade developers have given us. My personal favorites are Skyrim, The Last of Us, Witcher 3, and 2019’s Death Stranding.

Top Games of Decade 2010-19

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Our first pick for top games of the decade 2010-2019 is Skyrim. The 2011 game had an immensely rich storyline, in-game history, and lore which easily attracted gamers. Bethesda’s game is a high-fantasy setting; the armor details and the massive open-world environment was none like any other. With seemingly infinite side quests, the game always had something in it to do. Players and creators joined Skyrim to create and experiment countless mods that are still coming out today. My personal favorite type is the 4K realistic mods. Do you still listen to The Song of the Dragonborn?

2. The Last of Us

We can safely say that the best post-apocalyptic game most of us played is Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us”. The 2012 game has such an intense and immersive storyline that its a movie all in its self. “The Last of Us” came when zombie media was at its best, but that only helped its launch. The gameplay, story progression, character development, challenges, and quests are simply off the charts, things that made it take high-altitude flight. Horror is not just limited to “clickers”, you have to watch out for humans as well. Moreover, we are about to start the new decade by its sequel and we can’t wait to see Naughty Dogs The Last of Us II has stored for us.

3. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt

Downright, the top game of this decade. In fact, Witcher 3 was Game of the Year for 2015. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 contains high detailed graphics, action, writing, incredible story, and damn appealing voice acting. The Witcher series exploded right after this and it is still taken as among the best games that we are getting.

4. Death Stranding

Top games of the decade list include Death Stranding, Kojima Productions’ masterpiece. Released this year in 2019, the game features Norman Reedus as the main character. It’s a complex and complicated storyline, really puts out a lot of fan theories. One may think that the slow story progression and neverending barren wasteland stops Death Stranding from being among the top list. However, the amazing soundtrack, magnificent graphics, and incredible action really have us shocked. The game is packed with cinematic excellence, and all of this makes it worthy of praise.

5. Grand Theft Auto 5

Rockstar Games really went all out with this one. Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 was an incredibly huge game. Came out in 2013, over 90 Million units have been sold according to a report by HuffPost. The game was set in an image od South California with a bit of Los Santos. It has generated a revenue of more than USD 6 billion till now. This is the testament of the game, its features, its multiplay and whatever it throws to the gaming community.

The list goes on and on but, we can share some notable mentions. Fortnite, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Overwatch, Dark Souls and Pokemon Go are some games that ruffed up this decade upon their release as well.
