The beloved maid to Karen (Megan Mullally) died of heart failure this Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles. Shelley Morrison was a part of James Burrows’ Will and Grace for almost 7 years.
Her passing away has left co-stars Debra Messing, Megan Mullally, Eric McCormack and others in sorrow. They shared their feelings on social media.
On hearing the news, Debra Messing had this to say about Shelley Morrison:
Oh, Shelley… what a loss. Our dear Rosario (of Will and Grace) has passed on. Shelley Morrison had a career that spanned decades, but she will always be our dear Rosie. She was a kind soul with a huge heart and always had a smile on her face. All my love to Walter and the entire family.
Will and Grace co-star, Megan Mullally wrote:
I just got a bulletin on my phone that Shelley Morrison has passed. my heart is heavy. Thank you for your friendship & partnership, shell. you accomplished wonderful things in this world. you will be missed.
Eric McCormack (Will Truman of Will and Grace) called Shelley Morrison a beautiful soul and a wonderful actor.
Shelley was a beautiful soul & a wonderful actor. Her work as Rosario, season after season, was as nuanced and real as it was hysterical. She will be missed by everyone at #WillandGrace, she’s a huge part of it. Sending so much love to Walter and Shelley’s whole family.
The 83-year was part of Will and Grace from 1999 until 2006. She took retirement from acting back in 2016 and was subsequently not part of Will and Grace reboot.
Will and Grace will end after the latest, season 11.
