New Star Wars Film Almost Got Leaked on eBay By John Boyega
When you join one of Disney’s projects, one thing that you should do is keep absolute secrecy. When it comes to filming, like for the new Star Wars film, the plot and storyline must be kept secret. However, what would happen if one of their actors accidentally leaked the script? John Boyega has an interesting story to tell about this one!
New Star Wars Film’s Script Almost Leaked on eBay!
While talking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, John Boyega first spoke about the movie itself. He talked about how emotional the final days of the movie were. He described working with Disney as “something I will always cherish for the rest of my life”. He then recalled his experience of riding horses for the new Star Wars film.
“The Rise of Skywalker” has alien horses called Orbaks. John Boyega and others had to ride regular horses combined with CGI to give an interesting shot of a scene that we see in the trailer as well. You can watch it here:
The segment became interesting when Jimmy Fallon poked the recent news about Star Wars film script leak. Apparently John Boyega accidentally gave away the movie’s script which then leaked on eBay.
The Movie’s Script Was Selling For $85
John Boyega explained that he had kept the script under his bed in a temporary apartment he was living in. When he moved away, he forgot to take his script along. Someone else found the script and put it on eBay for $85!
Boyega explained that it is maybe because the person never read the script, but only his name that he decided its worth to be $85. Luckily, for all Star Wars fans, Disney bought back the script with some help from eBay itself. However, things did not look good for Boyega when Disney heads found out about this grave news. When Jimmy asked who did he speak to among Disney over this, Boyega responded:
“Well, Femi, my agent had spoken to several different powers-that-be. These powers include [Disney CEO] Bob Iger, [producer] Kathy Kennedy…
And apparently, they were at galaxy’s edge, going for like a tour of the place, and [Steven] Spielberg was there as well apparently!”
John Boyega ended on a lighter note claiming that none of them would be working with him in the future ever again, before breaking into a burst of laughter.
The Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker, is coming out on December 20th.
