The CW’s Katy Keene | Will it Attract Viewership?

0 538

There’s been a lot of buzz around the new upcoming The CW show, Katy Keene. Katy Keene is based off an a character of the same name from the Archie comics. Leading the show is Lucy Hale as Katy Keene. However, even with the buzz, the question remains. Will the show gain enough viewership to last more than one season? Or will it flop so hard that it’ll get cancelled after 10 episode?

Katy Keene Trailer Out But it Portrays a Very Different Katy from the Comics

In the comics, Katy is powerful and at the top of her game. However, the show is going to focus more on how Katy actually became the fashion queen and why. What prompted her to start a career in fashion? The trailer answers these questions and gives the viewers a look into the back story of Katy Keene.

But the problem arises here. Do the viewers really want to see the backstory? Is showing the struggle really important? We don’t really have answers to these questions but we’re giving the show the benefit of the doubt. Lets see what the show brings to the table.

Why People Will Watch it

The obvious answer is because of Riverdale. Not only is Katy a character from Archie but a major character from Riverdale is also a part of the storyline in the show. Josie (Ashleigh Murray) is part of the show and we are so excited to see her become a regular character and actually develop a storyline for herself.

Other than the fans of Riverdale, the comic fans might actually give the show a watch but we highly doubt that as mentioned above about how different Katy seems from the comics.

Whatever the case, we’re happy to see Josie as a regular member and Lucy Hale dazzling on-screen. Katy Keene will premiere next year in February.
