YouTube Vloggers Die in Shannon Fall

82

Three YouTube vloggers who were a part of the YouTube travel vlogging collective High on Life died recently. While swimming at the top of Shannon Falls in British Columbia, the trio slipped and fell into a 98ft pool. Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh and Megan Scraper were part of this YouTube travel vlogging collective High on Life. This incident took place when Megan Scraper slipped into the pool, and her friends swept away while trying to save her. Police authorities got down to recovery operations, and confirmed that the deceased were in their twenties.

The entire team of High on Life was saddened with this tragic incident. When responding to the death of their members, High on Life commented that,

They were three of the warmest, kindest, and most driven and outgoing people you could ever meet.

High on Life has about 1.1 million followers on Instagram and more than 500,000 subscribers on YouTube. The group initiated a memorial page for the trio who died on the adventure, and also posted a video to pay tribute. The memorial fund page posted a status informing people of this demise, and offering condolences to the families. The statement read that,

On July 3rd, 2018 our community lost 3 very dear friends; Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh, and Megan Scraper. There are truly no words that can be said to ease the pain and the devastation that their families are all going through right now. Our gift to them is to use the money raised to cover the costs of the Celebration of Life that will commemorate all three of these beautiful lives.

Two of these members actually founded the High on Life community. After Gamble and Lyakh went traveling in 2012, they decided to turn their travel video production into an official career and said that they would promote brands and destinations through it. Hopefully, the group will reach greater heights even after them.
