James Charles $50000 YouTube Competition Series For Beauty Influencers

Beauty-guru and famous YouTuber James Charles has decided to use his platform to host a ‘Project Runway’ style reality competition series for beauty influencers. This competition is the first of it’s kind and serves a good cause.

Considering James Charles’s popularity in the beauty world, this is a great step from his end. The makeup mogul has 16.3 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. He also has 15.9 million Instagram followers and 4.3 million on Twitter. James was also the first male spokesperson for Covergirl. Recently he launched his very-own eye-shadow palette called the ‘James Charles Palette’.

Influencers out there, working hard to create content and give their skills and talent exposure, would find this to be a life-changing opportunity. His platform won’t just be beneficial to the winner; even the contestants will get to exhibit their abilities and boost their careers.

And of course, James Charles, full of life, happiness, and sass can make anything fun. So this new competition series will also prove to be super entertaining.

All we know about James Charles YouTube Competition

The title of this new show will be ‘James Charles Instant Influencer’  and will be similar in format to the fashion-designing competition on television called ‘Project Runway’. james Charles, himself, will host, direct, and execute the show.

According to Charles, he is looking for “people who are already working hard but haven’t had their discovery yet.”

The show will feature six contestants who will be picked out of the applicant pool. These six will be flown out to Los Angeles where they will perform various tasks and will compete to win each round. Charles and guest celebrity judges or industry experts will be judging the contestants. The winning contestant will be taking home $50,000.

“The whole point is to pick a person I think will bring something positive to the community,” Charles told Variety.

“It was important for me to make it really true to how the beauty influencer community works.”

In fact, YouTube is funding the series as part of its new originals strategy, with more focus on personality-driven, learning content.

When does it start?

The show is planned to debut in the Spring of 2020 on the James Charles YouTube channel. YouTube and James have a plan to release episodes on a weekly basis.

This beauty-influencer content does not only seem fun, but we are happy to see an influencer trying to empower other smaller influencers and helping them succeed. Kudos to James Charles for the brilliant idea!

This contest will also be another positive step for Charles’s public image after his public spat with Tati Westbrook when she accused him of being a ‘sexual predator’ leading him to lose millions of his subscribers.
