Every young boy or girl grows up dreaming to be a superhero. Sometimes we may have tried to fly or expect that a cool, magic power will suddenly dawn upon us one day. It’s a part of every person’s childhood; avidly reading Marvel or DC Universe comics or watching the newest superhero fantasy film with wide-eyed fascination. Well, Dwayne Johnson, ‘The Rock’ was another one of us. He never imagined he would be Black Adam one day.
Born in 1972 into a professional-wrestler family, Dwayne Johnson originally rose to fame as ‘The Rock.’ He was one of the most famous wrestlers of WWF/WWE and won the Heavyweight title numerous times.
However, his career took a turn and he found himself in films. Starting from smaller roles to bigger ones, he was seen as the villain ‘Scorpian King’ in 2001’s The Mummy Returns. He also landed a role in comedy movies ‘Be Cool’ with John Travolta, 2007’s Game Plan, and then in 2010’s Tooth Fairy. Later Dwayne starred in the HBO series Ballers, and the hit Fast and the Furious, and Jumanji franchises.

The Man in Black ⚡️ Like most kids growing up, I dreamed about being a superhero. Having cool superpowers, fighting for what’s right and always protecting the people. It all changed for me, when I was 10yrs old and was first introduced to the greatest superhero of all time – SUPERMAN. As a kid, Superman was the hero I always wanted to be. But, a few years into my fantasy, I realized that Superman was the hero, I could never be. I was too rebellious. Too rambunctious. Too resistant to convention and authority. Despite my troubles, I was still a good kid with a good heart – I just liked to do things my way. Now, years later as a man, with the same DNA I had as a kid – my superhero dreams have come true. I’m honored to join the iconic #DCUniverse and it’s a true pleasure to become, BLACK ADAM. BLACK ADAM is blessed by magic with the powers equal to SUPERMAN, but the difference is he doesn’t toe the mark or walk the line. He’s a rebellious, one of a kind superhero, who’ll always do what’s right for the people – but he does it his way. Truth and justice – the BLACK ADAM way. This role is unlike any other I’ve ever played in my career and I’m grateful to the bone we’ll all go on this journey together. BLACK ADAM 12.22.21 ⚡️ Huge thank you to my friends, @jimlee and @bosslogic for this first time ever bad ass collaboration.
Dwayne Johnson expressed his true happiness in a long Instagram post, where he also revealed a first look at the upcoming, cool superhero.
‘Black Adam’ (Johnson) in the first poster is suspended in the air with wreckage around him. The superhero is sporting a strong black super-costume paired with a bright yellow. A yellow lightning bolt detailed across the chest, and lightning bolts emitting from his hands; it seems that the superhero has related superpowers. His eyes are lit up as well, signifying the energy he has.
Dwayne shares in his post how he had always dreamt of being a superhero, saving the world, and fighting for the weak. He had always looked up to Superman as his favorite.

Dwayne Johnson As Black Adam Sounds Fun
Dwayne shares that he was “too rebellious, too rambunctious. too resistant to convention and authority” to ever be someone close to Superman’s character. He shared the delightful news and stated he was honored to a part of DC.

In fact, interestingly Black Adam is blessed by magic with the powers equal to Superman, with a touch of Dwayne Johnson’s own rebellious personality.
He’s a rebellious, one of a kind superhero, who’ll always do what’s right for the people – but he does it his way.
The movie is set to release at the end of 2021- specifically the 22nd of December ’21.
”Black Adam”-What we know so far
Well, there are some more interesting facts we have discovered regarding the new superhero flick.
The character of Black Adam has been created by Otto Binder and CC Beck. What’s going to make the story interesting is that it collides with ‘Shazam!‘ (previously known as ‘Captain Marvel’ in the comics). ‘Shazam!’ is one of the latest superhero introduced by DC and was featured in a stand-alone film this year.
Well, Black Adams is going to be the enemy of Shazam! Omg? We LOVED ‘Shazam!’ for his likable, goofy, adult superhero character. We’re going to have a tough time picking sides now.
Dwayne Johnson has also said that Larry Sher, the Director of Photography for ‘Joker’, will be working with him for ‘Black Adam.
He retweeted an interview with Joker’s creatives and quoted the following: “Larry Sher is a brilliant DP and a great dude! We just worked together on Jungle Cruise and he’ll also shoot Black Adam….”

We just worked together on Jungle Cruise and he’ll also shoot Black Adam. Glad you spent some time with him, Frost. https://t.co/cta3UoxtAT

We’re still waiting for Sher’s confirmation but we trust Dwayne Johnson when he says something. And this means a huge win for the cinematography of DC Universe and ‘Black Adam’.
For now, we are waiting for the trailer release and are already excited for Black Adams’ to quench our inner superhero thirst! And who’s better than ‘The Rock’ Dwayne Johnson to do so!?
