Riverdale’s KJ Apa has quite an active career outside the CW TV series. Recently, he was in popular movies such as the critically acclaimed The Hate U Give and Netflix’s The Last Summer. He’s appearing in another movie: Altar Rock. The cast includes Apa, India Eisley, and Scott Adkins. It’s also inspired by the real-life events of the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing.

What’s the Story About?

It’s actually going to be a romantic thriller movie starring KJ Apa and India Eisley as the main leads. They will be star-crossed lovers just like Romeo and Juliet. So, yes, it’s going to have elements of family loyalty and drama.

Though, the synopsis states that it is going to be inspired by actual events that occurred: the 2013 Marathon Bombing. The bombing was actually a terrorist attack that killed 3 people and injured approximately 264. Later, the perpetrators of this horrendous crime were captured.

The director Andrzej Bartkowiak has shared this regarding the movie:

It’s a classic story that is very current and goes to the heart of issues facing all of us now as we deal with fear of change and disruption brought on by war and human actions.

Along with Eisley, Apa, and Adkins, the cast also includes James Remar, Sydney Park, Joseph Ramah, Leah Prcito, Anastasia Tsikhanava, and Ellie Cornell.

When Will KJ Apa’s Altar Rock Be Released?
