Transgender, or Trans, Awareness Week is typically celebrated in the second week of November. This is a celebration that leads up to the actual day called Transgender Day of Remembrance, celebrated on November 20. We need to educate ourselves about the third gender in our society and raise awareness. Netflix’s Pose celebrity, Indya Moore has shown their support to transgender countless times. On social media, the transgender celebrity has been active over slurs and jokes on transgenders. They have also called out anyone who tried to think they were superiors.

On this trans awareness week, we expected Indya Moore to have something to say, and they did. On their Instagram, they posted a picture talking to the transgender community. They tried raising the community’s morale by telling them how empathic they are, how beautiful they are and how talented they are.

Indya Moore’s Push To Trans Community

Moore from Pose also tells the trans community to be courageous and speak up for themselves and those around them regardless of what others might say. They describe their support by saying: “It is a privilege to do so, not a burden. & let’s not to mention all that you provide for me?!”  Indya Moore then talks about how being one of the members of this community provided them with an understanding of their history. They have learned affection and maintenance.

Here is a complete note by Moore on trans awareness week:

This is a message from my partner after I expressed that I felt like I was too much and worried about their consistent emotional maintenance, labor and pouring into me during times of immense pressure, stress & sadness & vulnerability.. I chose to love somebody.. And my faith for the future, in liberation, and in other people in general has been amplified by their vulnerability, honesty and growth. Somebody chose to love me and I have never been more compassionate, disciplined, accountable, empathetic, and committed. I am so grateful for their capacity to love and share with me.. So in love. Love is so in me. Love & reciprocity should stimulate growth, and inspire us to fill our shells.. Trans people deserve this love. Our fearless love deserves reciprocity. Trans day of awareness. 12|21 ♾ to infinity.. & beyond..

Indya Moore is a colored transgender, and because they are from people of color, they know how brutal can the society be towards transgenders.
